Playland is Metro New York's great family amusement park and entertainment center. Featuring more than 50 rides and attractions for children and adults, Playland also offers free entertainment and has a beach, pool, boardwalk and pier on scenic Long Island Sound, lake boating, picnic area, mini golf and indoor ice-skating.
Playland has the distinction of being America's first totally planned amusement park and prototype for today's successful theme parks. Dedicated as a National Historic Landmark in 1987, Playland has provided family fun since 1928. Often referred to as "Rye Playland", it is America's only government owned and operated amusement park.

	Super Flight Soar through the air like never before! Super Flight treats its riders to a constant change in positive and negative G-force and accelerations, with swooping turns, breathtaking drops and two zero gravity rolls - creating the incredible sensation of weightlessness! 	Double Shot This vertical ride rockets you up an 85-foot tower in less than two seconds and before you can enjoy the breathtaking views, shoots you back down to the bottom at a negative one G Force. All of this is repeated for double the thrills! (handicap accessible) Minimum Height 52" Admission 6 points

	Dragon Coaster This famous roller coaster has been captivating people for over 75 years. With over 3,400 feet of track you’ll plunge into a 128-foot drop and be hurled into the mouth of the now fire-breathing Dragon! Minimum Height 48" Admission 6 points

	Playland Plunge Splash down as a passenger boat drops you 50 feet into a pool. Riders get soaked once again as they watch from the bridge to exit the ride. (handicap accessible) Minimum Height 42" (36" with adult) Admission 6 points

	Log Flume Cool down on those hot, summer days and splash through a 1,150-foot chute filled with 170,000 gallons of water. Minimum Height 48" (42" with adult) Admission 6 points

OKLAND BEACH (8 minutes from Columbus Park)

Oakland Beach doesn’t get a lot of visitors, but it's always fun to be here. You need to get out of the house, and Oakland Beach in Westchester County, New York is the outdoors at its finest. There aren’t any lodgings in the vicinity but if you're prepared to go a small distance then no problem and if you make reservations prior to departure you're all set. This is such a wonderful beach. This segment of New York is always a bliss to stop at during the summer months. Choppy water and such a scenic slice of shore is quite a sight. For all you camping folks there are campgrounds nearby. During your trip to Oakland Beach you'll meet some people from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown for sure; while you're here here do stop at close by Rye Beach. Not far from Oakland Beach you find Parsonage Point, and since you're here you can play.
